Progress (11/11/2025):

The Restorative Garden project is supported by grants from the Community Preservation Committee of the City of Boston totaling just over a million dollars.  The project was split into three phases, with Phase 1 completed over a year ago, and Phases 2 and 3 having completed the design and permitting and are currently under construction.

To date, much of the site work to remove invasive species and protect valuable topsoil/loam is done.  The walkway material is on site; these materials were selected for their strength and longevity supporting the objective to have the garden require less maintenance in the years to come.  Stair footings and the concrete sidewalk joining the existing concrete sidewalk nearest the building are in the process of being poured.  The helical piles to support the walkway while protecting the sensitive resource area around the vernal pool will be installed very soon.  This engineering is critical to the construction process and will provide the main support to the walkway.
