Sophia Snow Place is managed by Rogerson Communities, Inc., a premier provider of services to seniors in the greater Boston area. We are fortunate to share the resources of many Rogerson programs such as the Adult Day Health and Dementia Day Programs located at Rogerson House, Egleston Square and Roslindale House. Rogerson Communities offers a variety of housing for middle and low income seniors, and those requiring dementia care. Some of our Rogerson affiliates may be found at Springhouse Boston, Pond Meadow, Pond Home, Hale Barnard, and Rogerson House.
Over the past several months, Sophia Snow Place is proud to have collaborated with the West Roxbury – Roslindale YMCA (www.ymcaboston.org/westroxbury) to provide YMCA led programs on site at Sophia Snow Place and to promote Y programming among SSP residents, offering transportation to the Y for those participating.
As part of our ongoing effort to enhance the lives of our residents, Sophia Snow Place welcomes clergy from various religious traditions on a regular basis. (Holy Name Parish Catholic Church) provides both a weekly communion service and a monthly Mass. (The Stratford Street United Church) is a mainline protestant church uniting American Baptist and Congregational traditions and accepting people of all faith backgrounds. The SSUC pastor provides a monthly worship service at SSP. A rabbi from the Jewish Chaplaincy Council of Massachusetts visits SSP monthly and provides both religious services and educational talks for all who are interested.
Relatively new to the area is a transportation resource for seniors and those with visual disabilities in the Boston area. The Independent Transportation Network has been providing a dignified and affordable alternative way for seniors to maintain their independence in cities around the country for several years. Now they are coming to Boston. Sophia Snow Place is proud to support ITN Greater Boston (itngreaterboston.org)
