It was anchors away in February, as residents of Sophia Snow Place
took part in a trip on the Love Boat. The all day themed event combined
Valentine’s Day and a cruise vacation, which allowed residents to imagine
warm tropical beaches, instead of cold, snowy Boston. “The decorations are
so beautiful, it makes you feel as if you’re on a real cruise ship,” remarked
resident Fran Moyer.
Many of the staff joined in the fun, dressing in tropical or red attire,
and assisting with many of the programs scheduled. Even Dana Ramish, the
CEO of Snow Place, served as cruise ship Captain, welcoming the residents
aboard and handing out paper lei’s. “I promise to provide a smooth ride, I’ll
steer clear of the big waves,” he joked with the residents, as they feasted on
their Luau Lunch.
After a full day of activities such as Beach Volleyball and on board
entertainment from pianist & singer Bryan Patton, the residents all agreed it
was an enjoyable day, but good to be back on dry land again.
